Former Howle Hill Nursery, founded in 1996 by Peter Dowle, trading now as Leaf Creative Gardens. A landscape and design firm based in Huntley, Gloucestershire.
We have won numerous awards for our gardens – both for design and construction including gold medals at RHS Chelsea, RHS Hampton Court and RHS Malvern with several named Best in Show.
Our team has worked with many top designers, such as Chris Beardshaw, David Stevens, Sarah Eberle and James Basson.
Peter has featured in numerous magazine articles and appeared on BBC Gardeners’ World twice last year.
Peter Dowle
Head garden designer and the owner of Howle Hill Nursery, Peter has been immersed in plants and gardening since childhood. His father, Julian, was a noted garden designer and Peter spent a lot of time as a youngster at the Chelsea Flower Show helping to create award-winning designs.
He trained at Pershore College of Horticulture and his career has covered every aspect of gardening from design and construction to raising nursery stock and garden maintenance.
Peter is a keen plantsman and Howle Hill Nursery is full of interesting and unusual plants. A self-confessed ‘collector and lover of acers’, there is a large range of choice and specimen Japanese maples. The nursery is also the base for acersdirect.com an online nursery founded in 2016.
